This hike is filled with breathtaking views looking out over Tn. N.C. & Va. and if your feeling good that day we can lead you down the mountain side to Gentry's Creek Falls and out to the trailhead at Laurel Bloomery Tn. where you will be shuttled back to the top. This hike of course is for the more adventurous, but is well worth the effort. This is an all day hike...14 miles from start to finish.

Exploring The Highlands

The Appalachian Trail, and The Virginia Creeper Trail, are two of the most popular trails in this part of the country, however, High Country Outdoor Adventures prefers to take the less known path, we will guide you through some of the most remote and beautiful mountain trails in our area. These trails are most often not listed on any trail map, and most are old remnants of the logging railroads that prospered here in the early 1900's.
Your guide can arrange to show you the true wilderness, and odds are pretty good that you won't be running into anyone else, so take some time off, bring your family and truely escape to the mountains where the only sounds you'll here are the rushing mountain streams, and the wind in the trees.
Tell us what your looking for and we will try to arrange a hike or nature walk just for you, overnight primitive camping is always a possibility, and we have a trail for everyone. From all day adventures to small group hikes.

Jamie Corum is well known in the mountains of Southwest Va. and Northeast Tennessee, for his outdoor skills, he was the American Archers Association's shooter of the year in 2003 in his class and has won many state and local tournaments. Jamie is also considered by many to be one of the best Deer & Turkey hunters in the region and his trophy room at home proves his reputation. He has hiked and explored some the most rugged terrain in this part of the country and will guide you through some of the most beautiful and untouched areas around, from mountain tops with spectacular views of three states to deep hidden hollows, and waterfalls.
